Good News!

The past few weeks have seemed heavy with bad news. Each morning I wake to hear of:

another bombing….
another mass shooting….
innocent lives being taken…

I feel weary of hearing of politics with no happy ending in sight. The debate of:

deleted emails…
plagiarized speeches….
and the battle of the lesser, almost sound as fingernails on a chalkboard to me.

I feel a huge burden for so many that have lost their way. It seems weekly Satan has attacked a friend in a powerful way leaving them wayward and me broken and confused as to how this can be.

The Bad news is draining.

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. Jn 16:33

We can still rejoice because we know where victory lies;

As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.

Prov 25:25

and We can also be refreshed in some good news!

  • Two were Baptized last month in Taiwan!

  • In China, Natasha was able to see one of her close friends come to Christ!

  • God provided a piece of land for a camp in Kathmandu, Nepal. We are looking forward to seeing how He will use this property to further His ministry there!

  • Crystal (in China) and Rebel (in Japan) both got their driver’s license.  This isn’t an easy task overseas and will make their lives easier!

  • Mommies of these two cuties reluctantly sent them to local pre-schools in China and Nepal, trusting the Lord to take care of them and give them  little friends, if He saw fit. They have THRIVED far beyond what they ever imagined, and they are well loved and have many friends.  Daily they are learning more of the language and can’t wait to return to see their teachers and friends!

  • In South Africa we have been able to finish the first book of discipleship with some of my friends this past month, and we have already started on book 2!  Their hunger to learn the Bible and to help me continue learning their language has excited me and pushed me to keep on.

  • There is no greater joy  for parents then to see their children walk in Truth.  This past month 2 beautiful MKs both made professions of faith, Addison in South Africa and Ava in China!

Truthfully there is an abundance of Good News we can share with you:   Beth and her family have happily settled into a new home in Bolivia after their year furlough.   Rebel has started teaching children in Japanese!   We have huge plans for an awesome Women Behind the Scene conference this month.  In just a few weeks Peru, Morocco, South Africa and Burkina Faso will have reinforcements as 4 families finish up deputation and move to their new mission field.     Look out India, we now have a united team, happily married, as Beth and Sam got married this month and are on their way!

The list could go on!    I find myself focused often on all the bad, when in fact ,there is such good news that I can not only think on but share with others.   My friends here in South Africa often remind me, that despite circumstances we truly can be happy in Christ.   At church I look around the room at people loving our Lord, worshiping Him with joy.  I know that many are dealing with extreme sickness, poverty, family crisis,  loss of loved ones, crazy politics,  but when given the opportunity to worship Him, they rejoice In the Lord.   I pray I can say the same.

We would love for you to comment with your Good News so we can rejoice with you!
