Congratulations to Beth G. missionary to North Africa on her newest addition, Emma Grace weighing in at 8 lbs 2oz!
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank her for her faithful service to the Lord. I am posting an previous post of hers below that gave me chills when I read it. Yesterday as she gave birth surrounded by nurses and doctors that she is called to minister to and share the gospel with, and I cannot help but picture her singing “I have decided to Follow Jesus, No turning back, no turning back!”
We love you and your family Beth. Thank you again for all you are doing to make the name of Jesus known to those who have never heard!
With love and Admiration,
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. -Matthew 16:24-25
After a short time of being in the states, my Mom and Dad were taking my family and I back to the airport. It was a quiet and somber trip. The country was in an upheaval and our family was worried for us. I was a little nervous myself to be quite honest, and I was thinking, this doesn’t make any sense. What are we doing? I worried about how the country was changing and what the future would be, and how my children would cope with leaving family (Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, etc.) once again.
It was a difficult moment…A sad moment…A silent moment…
and then, out of nowhere, my 2 year old son started singing,
“I have decided to follow Jesus No turning back, No turning back!”
I joined in with him and thought this is what it’s all about:
“The world behind me, the cross before me, I have decided to follow Jesus.”
“Though none go with me still I will follow, I have decided to follow Jesus.”
“No Turning Back, No Turning Back!”
This event took place a couple of years ago, but this simple tune still rings through my heart and mind. And I must tell you, that although there are some tough moments, there is more JOY and SATISFACTION in serving Jesus than anything else in the world.
So, I challenge you during your difficult moments to remember, “No turning back, No turning back” for Christ is Worthy!
