SONGS OF MY CHILDHOOD

Just thinking about the childhood choruses I was taught at a very early age. I have to admit,
they have carried me through a many a day. Because I still believe The B-I-B-L-E is still the
book for me. And I still have the Joy, Joy, Joy down in my heart. And I am still sooo glad that
Jesus Loves Me – How do I know? The Bible tells me so! Not only that but that Jesus knows
me, this I love! And what about the chorus that says, “Don’t worry about tomorrow, just be real
good today, The Lord is right beside you, He’ll guide you all the way. Have faith, hope, and
charity. That’s the way to live successfully. How do I know, the Bible tells me so.” After all
these years, I’m still striving to let my light shine. Remember the chorus “My God is so Big, so
strong and so mighty, there’s nothing my God cannot do?” These songs have filled my life with
strength and have come to rescue me from the horrible grip of defeat. Do you find yourself
singing in your heart those precious truths that were taught to you by a faithful Sunday School
teacher?
Just thanking The Lord today for a Mom and Dad who loved Jesus and knew the importance of
faithfulness and for teaching me songs about Jesus. May The Lord help us as Moms and
Grandmothers to teach our wee ones songs about Jesus.
My 87 year old mother-in-law often encourages me to just sing the chorus of “Tis So Sweet to
Trust in Jesus” to bring me back to the truth in stressful situations.
Children all over the world are being taught choruses by missionary wives. Choruses their
parents never knew to teach them. It is truly an honor to share these songs and watch God use
them in the lives of our children, grandchildren, and those to whom we minister.
Sing with me today, There is sunshine in my soul today…
